hey hello, i spent sunday making a song. i was playing a jorge ben album with my guitar in hand yesterday morning, and i came up with a little riff, that i wanted to use, so i sampled the beginning of the song "balanca pema", just a few seconds, played a few riffs, added some drums, lyrics, about a million ooh's and aah's, and this is what it is now: "bryn thomas"

music i like:

hello. i'm not sure if most of you are like me, but no matter what kind of music i'm making, inside my mind, i am a soul singer from the 60s or 70s. i had the chance to see raphael saadiq monday night at SOB's. it was a fantastic show. raphael saadiq is a pretty phenomenal guy, he could, be classified as an r&b artist but the guy is all soul. his new album, 'the way i see it', is a throwback album to the days of high-energy soul music, similar to much of the output of motown records. raphael wrote all of the songs on this album, arranged the music, and played bass and guitar lines that will bring you back to the soul-days of your parents. well, in my case, there weren't many soul-days. but my father did spend a year studying in nebraska in the 70's and he would sometimes ask black people 'what's crackin?'.. to see what they'd say back.

new music video

what's up, what's up? i have created this blog just now, in order to post news, info, audio, video, pictures, and everything else that has to do with my music and other parts of my life, as if i (myself, teddy, your true friend, teddy.) were a very important, interesting, and crucial person for you to know things about. sorry about the premise, this is the first post:

this is a music video for the song "chill" by teddy panache.
the song came about in this way: a friend of mine derek anton asked me to do something with a recording he had, of the opening credits to the kurt russel film "strongest man in the world". he sent over an mp3, i rearranged parts of it and made a rap song. a few months later, ryan schroeder, a film-maker and friend who also happens to be derek's cousin, approached me about doing a music video with whatever song of mine i found suitable. derek appears in the video, along with edmonton rappers the joe, mikey maybe, and my brother mitch-matic. the locations i picked for the video are various spots around edmonton: muddy waters cafe, blackbyrd myoozik, fort knox church (gym), 95 & 96 streets downtown, my house, and my friend n8's house.
